More brewing controversy over the “supplement industry:” Nearly all the weight loss meds over the counter and supplements have amphetamine like drugs. These drugs like, caffeine, nicotine, amphetamine, cocaine, all stimulate the central life threatening stress system. Nature does not want a human running for its life to stop and eat which might result in loss of life. Therefore, appetite is suppressed by severe stress. Dexatrim and Phentermine are examples of drugs with this property. With loss of appetite, calorie intake drops and starvation weight loss ensues. If one wants to design a supplement that will have traction and people who have success, some version of these amphetamine like drugs needs to be a part of the product. The weight loss with starvation however, results in a loss of 50% fat and 50% lean body mass. Correct weight loss via Low carb, high fat nutrition results in near 100% loss of fat and an increase in lean body mass! Don’t fall into the weight loss drug trap. Nutrition is the way to health, not through drugs that cause you to starve.
