Affordable IVF

JCRM was the first practice in North East Florida to offer low cost IVF programs.  While other’s may try to copy our approach, we are committed to our patients and in this time of economic downturn. We are willing to make IVF more affordable for our patients. Our IVF cycles have always been the most affordable in the area.  We know that the overall success of IVF is determined by the number of fresh cycles that a couple does up to 3 or 4 total.  It is our hope that lower costs will allow patients to try more cycles if needed, maximizing the overall chances of pregnancy. We were also the first program to offer minimal stimulation IVF.  Our minimal stimulation program is ultra low cost ($4000/cycle less) and has spawned out of our innovative hybrid cycle experience.  Hybrid cycles are those where oral and injectable ovulation drugs are utilized cutting down on the overall drug cost compared to older traditional stimulation protocols.  We pioneered the use of Letrozole alone and hybrid cycles for ovulation induction in Jacksonville beginning as far back back as 2004.  Hybrid cycles for minimal stimulation IVF or ovulation induction utilizing Clomid has been relatively unsuccessful and frustrating for everyone.  As of 2010, we recommend not paying for clomid related IVF or ovulation induction cycles prescribed by many other reproductive specialists.  Many of our early hybrid Letrozole cycles were converted to IVF if the patient produced too many follicles and produced successful pregnancies.  After seeing this early success and now utilizing minimal stimulation for IVF for more than two years, we have aquired great experience in this area of IVF stimulation.  We have even now expanded the use of minimal stimulation to the low responder patient group with similar success to traditional stimulations that are far more costly due to exceptionally high drug doses traditionally used in these patients.  Coupled with our extensive emphasis on the metabolic aspects of ovulation, our success rates are soaring both for IVF and non-IVF.  See below. We have learned that emphasizing metabolic aspects and nutritional change in our patients has made a tremendous difference in our pregnancy rates.  This relates to Insulin stimulation of the ovary causing too many male hormones (those hormones that cause acne, oily skin etc.) to be produced.  This is the hallmark of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) but can also affect patients who have normal ovulation.  This idea is supported by recent studies showing that IVF pregnancy rates are significantly increased when NORMAL patients are placed on Glucophage (Metformin).  These male hormones significantly hamper normal egg development which will dramatically lower a couples chances of pregnancy in any type cycle including IVF.  Don’t believe that the powerful injectable stimulation drugs will overcome any ovulation problems?  To a certain extent this is true but if you’re spending a great deal of money on treatment cycle or IVF, you want to enhance and maximize your chances in order to minimize the number of attempts it takes to have a success; overall less cost!Miscarriage is also significantly increased in ovulation disorders.  For example, in non-treated PCOS patients the miscarriage rate can be well over 50%.  This is a little known or recognized fact even amongst reproductive specialists.  By normalizing the ovarian hormonal environment, the miscarriage rate returns to normal or we think maybe below normal.  Therefore, attention to these problems further increases your chance of successful pregancy and lowers the cost of your treatment.

This approach is so effective that currently out of our IVF patients, less than 10% have pure ovulation problems as their diagnosis.  This is due to the fact that over 90% now become pregnant in our non-IVF protocol emphasizing these metabolic areas.   In prior years Clomid pregnacy rates were ~40%.  Our practice approach relates to identifying all the subtle issues that can be tuned up to improve your overall chances no matter what type of treatment we are utilizing.   Over the years, we have learned from patients what the subtle clues to many of these negative fertility factors are.  Special attention to identifying and treating these factors, significantly increases your chances of pregnancy and decreases your risk of miscarriage in any given cycle.   IVF can be a cook book approach or specific for the individual patient.  While the cost of cycles may be similar, we offer a more in depth and tailored approach to stimulation that will further lower the overall cost of your dreams to build a family.

We hope this gives you a glimpse at the care with which we take to lower your cost not only for the cycle itself but by maximizing your pregnancy rates in the overall treatment program due to specific attention to all aspects of fertility.  The ideas contained above exemplify our unyielding committment to the absolute lowest cost IVF and non-IVF treatment.  We are here to build your family!
