I feel I have a new lease on life!

October 26, 2015

Prior to meeting Dr. Fox,  I had been in decent health, but had known issues such as: hypothyroid, anxiety, headaches and migraines, joint pain, IBS, cramping/pain from Endometriosis. This caused chronic pain about 20+ days a month in one form or another.  I ate better than the normal US citizen with about 65% organic foods and ate out once a week. I did yoga and walks I felt like I was really trying to take care of myself.

I had tried many things. I never found a program on my own that I felt I could continue long term and be content with. I tried Paleo for two months about two years ago, I did feel better except, I just was hungry all the time. I couldn’t deal low carb without supplementing the fat.

Then I met Dr. Fox he got me on an Estrogen patch to help with the PMS symptoms and encourage me to really try the Low Carb High Fat diet. When I started doing the LCHF diet that changed me from eating to feed my crazy hormones to eating to fuel my body. LCHF left me feeling full and satisfied. I felt with some high protein snacks options I deal with any craving like a champ.

Two week into the LCHF I noticed a more regular digestive system, swelling and joint pain gone.  I couldn’t believe it I felt it was a total blessing in just two weeks. I started getting very excited for what might be the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. Four weeks into the diet I noticed I hadn’t had a headache in 1 week, my daily allergies went very low, I lost significant swelling/inflammation in my abdominal section.  12 weeks into the diet I’ve had a total of 3 headaches compared as many as 20+ headaches a month something I have been dealing with for 20 years.

At over 16 plus weeks on the diet. I can’t believe how much energy I have. Morning used to be the worst, I was cranky for hours.  Now I get the best sleep of my life. I don’t deal with insomnia.

If this is my new normal then, this is how I want to feel for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to see what the next few months journey is on the LCHF.

Change is hard. I’m not carb perfect. In fact I know where I want to be when it comes to the amount of carbs I eat and I still have more changes to make. We’re still trying  a new LCHF recipe every week. I’m still going to the library getting cook books to skim through every week. It takes work, it takes dedication. But I’m worth it. I’m worth fighting for good nutrition to help me lead the healthiest life I can.

Thank you Dr. Fox for spending real time with your patients helping them achieve their dreams of pain free living. I feel I have a new lease on life.
