Strength Training May Help Menopausal Women Counteract Weight Gain.
Yes, Yes, Yes…..
Two important take aways from this article. First, the idea that Estrogen deficiency results in metabolic dysfunction and weight gain. More specifically insulin resistance worsens which is the primary cause of obesity. Second, strength training is the correct form of exercise. The subjects were still engaged in aerobic activity. If not the findings might have been even more positive.

Our message: Stop aerobic exercise, it increases stress dramatically and slows metabolic rate. We see that every day. Utilize the time to walk (slowly) and twice a week engage in a strength training protocol utilizing the slow burn methodology. See Fred Hahn’s, Slow Burn Fitness Revolution for the technique. This is for everyone not just post menopausal women.
